Cabinet case construction begins with rabbet joints on all corners. These joints lock into each other to ensure that the case is strong and square. Any mid unit shelves are installed into a dado joint which is a groove cut into the side of the case that the shelves slide into, this joint again ensures a very strong connection. Doors, whether they are frame and panel or solid surface can be installed either inset, partially inset or overlay. Face frames are all joined with pocket screw joinery on the hidden side of the frame. European hinges provide a concealed hinge that is fully adjustable three ways to keep doors aligned with seasonal changes. All moldings are made in shop using the same woods as the project. I use full extension drawer slides when applicable and dovetail joints on the drawers. Panels for door are inserted without glue to allow them to float inside of the rails and stiles to prevent cracking.
