Occasional Table

Occasional table made from black walnut. The top is a flitch cut with the bark still on the edges. The legs are made by laminating several thin strips of wood together and gluing them in a bending form. The legs are not only curved but also have a slight twist to them. The aprons are cut to match the curve of the top and are attached to the legs with mortise and tenon joinery with pegs for addtional strength. It is finished with several coats of spar urethane to seal in and protect the bark from chipping off.
