This pine desk is made from ponderosa blue pine. The boards are reclaimed lumber from old barn floor boards. Both file drawers as well as the pencil drawer have full extension drawer slides. The panels are made from alder. Alder is a soft wood that is becoming a substiture for cherry. When finished with a typical cherry finish, it looks very similar. This desk is finished with multiple coats of hand applied polyurethane.
